Whoa, Fallout 76’s multiplayer will let you nuke other people’s bases Posted: 10 Jun 2018 08:12 PM PDT Fallout has traditionally been a single-player franchise, so when Bethesda revealed that the next game in the series will let you experience it with other players, people naturally felt worried. Another game going multiplayer? Will it ruin the fun? Based on what Bethesda showed off tonight at E3, though, multiplayer Fallout looks awesome. Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard also clarified that your choices will still matter, so the classic Fallout vibe will still be present. The difference is that you can now have a squad. Howard says that it's perfectly possible to enjoy the game by yourself, but that it'll be easier when you play with other people. As expected, you'll be using a more fleshed-out version of Fallout 4's... |
Bethesda is launching Prey and Wolfenstein VR games Posted: 10 Jun 2018 08:12 PM PDT Bethesda announced two virtual reality spinoffs at its E3 press conference this evening, including one for its survival sci-fi horror game Prey and the Nazi-killing extravaganza Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Typhon Hunter is a competitive game mode for Prey that pits you against the game's crafty shapeshifting alien combatants in what's described as a "deadly game of cat and mouse, except in this instance the cat is sometimes a trashcan or a bottle of cleaning supplies and the mouse has a shotgun." The mode will be available both in VR and in standard 2D, and it's being bundled with the game's upcoming Mooncrash expansion coming out later this summer. (You can also get your hands on Typhon Hunter in the new Prey digital deluxe... |
Bethesda teases The Elder Scrolls VI Posted: 10 Jun 2018 08:01 PM PDT Bethesda officially announced the existence of the sixth game in its long-running Elder Scrolls series, known right now as simply Elder Scrolls VI, at its E3 press conference this evening. We know almost nothing about the game, and Bethesda confirmed it with a very short teaser trailer showing an expansive environment with mountains and wilderness before the logo flashed on the screen. Suffice to say this game has probably been cooking for a long time, and yet we're likely very far off from a release date or anything concrete about what the game will actually look like. Still, Bethesda confirming that the game is indeed in development should be enough to get the legions of Elder Scrolls fans excited. |
The next Elder Scrolls game is a beautiful mobile RPG named Blades Posted: 10 Jun 2018 08:01 PM PDT The next installment of Bethesda's long-running Elder Scrolls series was designed as a mobile game, the company said today during its E3 press conference. Elder Scrolls Blades is a first-person role-playing game for Android and iOS that will feature console-quality graphics and a variety of combat styles. The Elder Scrolls: Blades casts you as the member of the Blades, described by Bethesda's Todd Howard as "the empire's top agents," who returns home to find that it has been destroyed. The story unfolds as you are forced into exile, and you'll explore both "hand-crafted" and procedurally designed dungeons, Howard said. You'll be able to play Blades by tapping or using virtual dual sticks. Combat includes standard melee attacks, ranged... |
Bethesda announces Starfield, its long rumored single-player sci-fi adventure Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:56 PM PDT Bethesda took to the stage at E3 to show off a teaser of Starfield, the long-rumored sci-fi adventure game, which the company says its been working on for 25 years. Described as a wholly new, next-generation first-person game from the company set in an entirely new world, Bethesda didn't offer any details on the new title other than a short teaser image, but for fans who have been waiting for a new series from Bethesda, it looks like Starfield is it. Presumably, we'll hear more from Bethesda in the coming months (or years) about Starfield, but in the meantime, at least we know that it's finally real. |
Fallout 76’s collector’s edition comes with a wearable power armor helmet Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:52 PM PDT Fallout has always been known for its incredible collector's editions, and the upcoming Fallout 76 is going to be no exception, offering a functional, life-size, wearable version of the helmet from the series' iconic power armor (specifically the T-51). The helmet also features a functional headlamp and voice modulator, to add to the effect — it should go perfectly with your Fallout 4 collector's edition replica Pip-Boy, for that complete Fallout experience. Also included in the Fallout 76 collector's edition is a giant, glow in the dark map of the game world and some plastic figurines to decorate it with, as well as a copy of the actual game. There's no announced price yet for the Fallout 76 collector's edition, but... |
Fallout Shelter is coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 tonight Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:46 PM PDT Fallout Shelter is coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, joining the existing iOS, Android, PC, and Xbox versions of the game. The Switch and PlayStation 4 ports are largely the same as the existing versions — you create your own Fallout vault, manage your base layout and inhabitants (all rendered in the charming, Vault Boy-style animation from the main Fallout games), while doing your best to make sure every stays happy and alive in the radiation-filled wastelands of the Fallout games. Given that the original iOS and Android versions of Fallout Shelter were well received, it makes sense that Bethesda would want to continue to expand it to new players. The Switch port is playable both with the touchsc Also on the mobile... |
Watch Keegan-Michael Key play a ‘very special’ Skyrim with Amazon Alexa Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:41 PM PDT Skyrim came out in 2011, but years later, Bethesda is still porting their iconic RPG to all sorts of platforms. Next-gen, VR, remastered versions: you name it, Skyrim is probably on it. During today's E3 keynote, Bethesda acknowledged this absurd reality by showing off a trailer for a fake version of Skyrim that's available on Alexa with a little help from Keegan-Michael Key. |
Wolfenstein: Youngblood stars B.J. Blazkowicz’s twin daughters killing Nazis in 1980s Paris Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:33 PM PDT Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a standalone followup to last year's Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, putting players in the shoes of series protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz's twin daughters (Jess and Soph) in 1980s Paris, continuing their father's fight against invading Nazis. There isn't too much information about Wolfenstein: Youngblood yet, but we do know that developer Machine Games will be developing the sequel, and that you'll be able to play through the game as either a cooperative, two player experience or a single player adventure as the Blazkowicz twins search for their missing father. Elements like the Da'at Yichud Power Suit from the previous rebooted Wolfenstein games also look like they'll be making a reappearance. W... |
Fallout 76 is an online-only survival game coming out on November 14th, 2018 Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:33 PM PDT Bethesda revealed more details about its upcoming Fallout game, Fallout 76, confirming this evening at its E3 press conference that the title is an online-only multiplayer experience arriving on November 14th, 2018. The developer stressed that the game can be played on your own, but that a core component of the experience will involve building a base with friends, cooperating to take down large monsters, and working together to fend off hostile enemy players. Pre-ordering the game now will grant you access to an open beta later this year. In a new gameplay trailer, you can see the interior of an abandoned Vault 76 and the remnants of what look like some type of celebration, prior to the vault opening ahead of the original Fallout's... |
