It can be difficult to find time to finish a video game, especially if you only have a few hours a week to play. In our biweekly column Short Play, we suggest video games that can be started and finished in a weekend.

Often, when I'm not sure what I want to play, I go browsing the new releases on Steam, Itch.io, and the Nintendo eShop until something grabs my attention. Usually, it's a game that fits my mood, which, like a lot of other people's moods lately, is a bit more anxious than usual. While in such a state, I'm almost more interested in playing something familiar and relaxing instead of something new. That's probably why I've put so many hours into Animal Crossing: New Horizons and also why Hidden Through Time got my attention.

LG reveals the name for its upcoming phone: LG Velvet

LG's upcoming smartphone will be called the LG Velvet, breaking with its tradition of alphanumeric names for its devices, "in favor of familiar and expressive names that will help the consumer capture the essence of the device best suited for his or her personality," the company announced. LG teased the new device and its new design language a few days ago.

The design of the LG Velvet will be different from LG's other smartphones, including a "raindrop" camera design with smaller lenses and an LED flash below the larger main camera, a departure from the current trend among smartphones to have big camera bumps. Best Buy is hosting a one-day sale on tech, including big discounts on a few different models of the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro, which Apple no longer sells. Just to make sure it gets mentioned right up front, this model doesn't have the improved keyboard found in the new 16-inch model. If you're OK with that, you stand to save a few hundred dollars compared to a similarly configured 16-inch model.

The retailer claims savings up to $1,500, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that these price cuts are for some of the most expensive configurations with a lot of memory, storage, and processing power.
