| Following criticism, Robinhood backtracks on checking and savings feature Posted: 15 Dec 2018 12:00 PM PST  Earlier this week, stock-trading app Robinhood announced that it would offer a new feature to users in early 2019: a checking and savings account that didn't have any fees attached to it. But after the feature received intense criticism, the company appears to have backtracked, saying that it plans "to work closely with regulators as we prepare to launch our cash management program." Launched in 2014, the company allowed users to trade stocks on companies listed on the US stock exchanges for free. A year later, its userbase had grown to "hundreds of thousands" of customers who had "transferred $1 billion" on the platform. Everyone knows that the map is full Koroks, but you don't really get a sense of how flush the map is with these critters until you watch an expert Zelda player collect as many Koroks possible, as quickly as possible. Known as speedrunners, these savant players compete in a variety of different formats that stipulate the rules for their play through. Some runners, for example, try to blaze through the game as fast as possible, completion rates be damned, while others try to finish every single part of the game. It's a deliberately slow, gentle movie that's largely about two people talking through their problems while stuck together in a slow-moving town. What's really neat about the film is how deeply integrated its plot and dialogue are with its locations. The film is set in Columbus, Indiana, a city filled with modernist architecture. It provides a really strong visual backdrop, but it's also the subject of so many of the characters' conversations, since both have deep relationships with architectural studies. I realize there are a few days left in the year, but the content industry is already well into its cycle of recaps and predictions, and readers can be forgiven if they would like to their attention to more festive matters to close out the year. Personally, I have a lot of shopping to do — but I'll also be spending the time planning 2019.
