| Here’s your best look yet at ZTE’s first smartphone with an under-display camera Posted: 19 Aug 2020 05:33 PM PDT  Image: ZTE ZTE has already announced that it plans to launch the first mass-produced 5G-enabled smartphone with an under-display camera in China next month, and now the company has shared new images that give us a better understanding of what that phone's screen might actually look like (via Dutch website Tweakers). In the render at the top of this post, you can see that the phone, which will be called the ZTE Axon 20 5G, has no visible camera up top — no hole punch, no notch. The render was shared by ZTE's president of mobile devices Ni Fei on Chinese social media network Weibo. Hulu has locked down the rights to stream Thundercats on its service starting tomorrow. This includes both the iconic original series from the 1980s, plus the 2011 reboot. The kid within me is screaming with pure joy. I was born in 1995, so, unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure of watching the original Thundercats cartoon when it aired between 1985 and 1989. Fortunately, in 2002, Cartoon Network's programming block Toonami did air it, and I remember watching as a seven-year-old kid, stumbling upon the cartoon after viewing a promo and thinking to myself "wow, this show looks cool." You probably know the feeling: you set out to find something new on Netflix, but end up spending more time browsing than actually watching. There's just so much there that it can be hard to make a choice. Recently I've been having the same issue every time I turn on my Xbox. Game Pass, Microsoft's subscription service, is much like Netflix and other video streaming services in that, for a monthly fee, you have access to a broad range of experiences. If you follow Microsoft's marketing, you'll know that Game Pass is a place for the company's big first-party games. With a subscription you can play every Halo or Gears of War title. | Los Angeles settles Weather Channel lawsuit, lets it keep selling location data to advertisers Posted: 19 Aug 2020 04:35 PM PDT  Los Angeles has settled its lawsuit against the operator of The Weather Channel app. The city filed litigation against the company in 2019, alleging that the app misled millions of people into granting access to their personal location data and sold that data to third parties. While IBM is celebrating this moment by calling those original claims "baseless" in a statement to The Verge, it sounds like they were largely true — since the only thing the settlement requires is for The Weather Channel to proactively warn users that yes, your location data is for sale. As part of the settlement, the app's operator, TWC Product and Technology LLC, and the app's owner, IBM Corporation, have agreed to revise the location-tracking disclosure... |

If you've never downloaded the game before, you're pretty much out of luck for now — and we recommend avoiding any of the eBay listings that appear to be popping up to hawk iPhones with the game installed for as much as $10,000. That sounds suspect. Those who have the game downloaded already can still play it of course and even install update files, at least until the next big patch launches, as Apple does not have the ability to forcibly remove software from your device. Airbnb's securities registration filing remains confidential, but it has been submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission, beginning the process that will ultimately allow everyday investors to purchase shares in the company for the first time. | Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is official, will be ‘inspired by actual events’ Posted: 19 Aug 2020 02:00 PM PDT  Call of Duty: Warzone may have somewhat overshadowed the rest of the Call of Duty franchise, with the battle royale racking up 75 million downloads as of this month — but of course Activision also wants to develop a new flagship Call of Duty campaign, and its name has just been revealed as Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. That's according to the official YouTube teaser you can watch above, which leaves us with many, many questions, primarily 1) what does the game actually look like, 2) is it next-gen, and 3) how does one properly punctuate the game's name?
